Boy drowns in pond
A six-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Singia village under Atwary upazila of Panchagarh district on Sunday.The boy was identified as Sakib, son of Dabirul Islam of the village. Locals said Sakib was playing beside a pond near their house at around 2:00pm. Suddenly, he slipped into the pond and drowned.Family members rescued Sakib and took him to Atwary Health Complex where the doctors declared him dead.
