Expedition to keep Keokradang clean
Aiming to raise awareness among the tourists to keep the country's hills clean, a team of 25 people will set off on a four-day long expedition to Keokradong, one of the highest peaks in the country, on September 2.
Chittagong Club Limited, as a part of their social responsibility, will initiate the event with a slogan “Let us go for clean summit”, in association with PHP Group and Diamond World.
The organisers announced the event at a press conference at Party Centre of Chittagong Club yesterday.
The organisers urged all nature lovers and visitors at Bandarban and other hilly areas not to throw away non-biodegradable objects on the hills to save the biodiversity and environment from pollution.
“Now-a-days Bandarban and its peaks are becoming popular tourist spots. Almost all visitors hurl their waste on their way to and from the peaks.
“Every visitor should use his or her own bag to keep the waste during their tour for the sake of saving the environment of the peaks,” said the organisers.
The tour coordinator Syed Asfaq-ul-Hasan and MA Ariful Islam, event coordinator of Chittagong Club, spoke at the conference.
