Two killed in Natore, Moulvibazar clashes
50 injured in B'baria
At least two people were killed and around 60 people injured in three separate clashes in three districts on Friday and Saturday.
An elderly man was killed and six others were injured in a clash between in-laws at Alipur village under Gurudaspur upazila of Natore on Friday evening, reports our correspondent.
Deceased Abdur Rahim Sheikh, 70, was son of late Kafil Uddin Sheikh of the village.
Police and witnesses said, there was a longstanding feud between Abdur Rahim and Abbas Ali over a piece of land.
Police called both the parties to Gurudaspur police station to settle the matter on Friday morning.
Being angered for involving police, Abbas Ali and his supporters attacked Rahim's house with lethal weapons injuring Rahim and six other family members.
Locals rushed Rahim to Natore Sadar Hospital from where he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical Collage and Hospital (RMCH). Later, he died at RMCH at about 07:00pm. Rahim was brother-in-law of Abbas.
In Moulvibazar, a man was killed and four others were injured in a clash at Ita Tea Garden under Rajnagar upazila on Friday evening, reports our correspondent.
Victim Monsur Ali of Poshchim Tila was a former tea labourer.
According to police and locals, a clash took place between the supporters of existing UP member Nazim Uddin and former UP member Abdul Mannan over CI sheets given by the garden authorities for repair of the colonies of tea labourers.
Nazim Uddin distributed the sheets which angered Monsur Ali. He lodged a complaint with former UP member Abdul Mannan.
It triggered a clash between the supporters of two UP men. Monsur died in the clash while four others were seriously injured.
In Brahmanbaria, at least 50 people were injured in a fierce clash between two groups over money transaction at Noagaon village in Sarail upazila yesterday morning.
Police said two groups of villagers, one led by Munshi and another by Khoda Box, locked in an altercation at about 6:00am, reports UNB.
Later, both the groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other, leaving at least 50 people from both sides injured.
