Clash over land, 20 injured
At least 20 people were injured in a clash over land dispute between two groups of villagers at Aganshasan village in Biswanath upazila on Saturday.
Locals said there was a long standing rivalry between Siddique Mia, 75, and his nephew Bashir Mia, 38, over the ownership of a land at the village.
Following an altercation between them over the issue in the evening, supporters of the two equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other, leaving at least 20 people from both sides injured.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
