Teenage girl murdered
Body of a teenage schoolgirl was recovered from a drain at Gagon Goli of Datarkhana area in the city yesterday morning.
Police arrested two sweetmeat shop workers of the area in connection with the murder.
Police and family sources said victim Sonia Aktar,15, was a student of class ten at Mamataz Majidunnessa Girls' School.
She was one of three daughters of Harun Hawladar alias Harun Dalal, a staff of residential hotel 'Soikat' in Port Road area of the city.
Sonia went missing at about 10:30 pm Wednesday after she left home to visit her aunt near their house.
A resident yesterday saw a part of her dress through a hole of the drain's slabs and informed the police.
Police recover4ed the body and later arrested two youths--Rashed and Shahin-- two employees of nearby sweetmeat shop 'Huq Mistanna.'
Both of the arrestees confessed to police that they strangled Sonia after rape. She 'cheated' us in the name of love affair, they said.
