2 girls freed, 3 arrested
Police yesterday rescued two teenage girls in Chalitabaria bazaar area under Sharsha upazila of Jessore while being trafficked to India.
Police also arrested three people in this connection.
The rescued girls were identified as Rupali Begum, 16, and Kajal Begum, 17.
Police sources said, being tipped-off that some teenage girls are being trafficked to India through Baghachra border by a gang promising them good jobs there, a team conducted drives in Chalitabaria bazaar area and rescued the two girls.
Police also arrested three traffickers. They are Korban Ali, of Kolaroa upazila of Satkhira and Sabuj Miah and Hafez Khan of Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila .
