4 Hizb-ut Towhid men held

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested four activists of Islamist outfit Hizb-ut Towhid in Rajshahi city early yesterday. A team of Rab-5 arrested them at Bazekajla around 1:30am. The elite forces also recovered 900 leaflets of the outfit, 60 posters, four books on jihad (uprising) and a compact disk (CD) from their possession. Acting on a tip-off, the Rab members arrested Md Manik, 35, Md Ashraf, 30, Md Aslam, 28, and Md Sujon, 19, when they were holding a 'secret meeting' at Manik's residence. The arrestees, all residents of Bazerkajla, were handed over to Motihar police, said Lt Mansurun Mahdin, media officer of Rab-5. Of them, Ashraf, Aslam and Sujon are siblings, the media officer said adding that the four were arrested several times earlier on various charges.
