Woman killed, husband hurt
Criminals hacked to death a housewife and injured her husband allegedly over previous enmity at West Senpara in Daulatpur in the city on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Mainur Begum, 28, wife of Nantu Mollah, general secretary of Phulbarigate Baby Taxi Union.
A gang of seven equipped with sharp weapons waylaid Nantu and Mainur on their way to Moheshwarpara to visit a relative at 11:30 pm. The criminals chopped them indiscriminately leaving them severely injured. Mainur later died at hospital.
