Where has the money gone?

Due to sheer negligence to duty by bank officials, Tk 15 lakh was stolen from a branch of Krishi Bank at Shimrail crossing in Sadar upazila yesterday. Bank sources said a businessman, Delwar, came to the Siddhirganj branch of the bank to withdraw Tk 15 lakh at noon. As there was no sufficient amount of money available at the branch at the moment, branch manager Mobarak Hossain and assistant manager Shafiqul Alam brought Tk 15 lakh in a bag from Madanpur branch of the bank to their branch. Both the managers handed over the bag containing the money to the cashiers-Fazlul Haque and Abdul Kuddus Mia. But to the utter surprise of all, the bag was found 'missing' after a while. Several subscribers, who were present during the incident, said that two unknown youths went to the counter of the cashiers and fled away with the bag. The subscribers blamed calousness and indifferent attitude of the bank officials for the incident.
