Lightning injures 6
Six members of a family were injured by lightning at Taranibash village in Jibon Nagar upazila on Tuesday night. The injured are Bedena Khatun, 25, Komla Khatun, 20, Hasina Begum, 35, Rahima Khatun, 24, her daughter Sharmin Akhter, 6, and Shaker Banu, 30. They are grandchildren and daughters-in-law of Gafur Mondal of the village. Family sources said they were gossiping on the veranda of their house during rain when a lightning struck them. The injured were admitted to upazila health complex.
