<i>Bichha poka</i>

A creeper infested with caterpillars, locally known as bichha poka, on the premises of a house in Dhurail union under Madaripur Sadar upazila presents a typical picture of large areas in several upazilas of the district. Starting widespread attack on jute fields around one and a half months ago, the harmful and disgusting insects are now finding their way to other plants, water sources as well as inside houses, spoiling food items and causing serious disturbance to normal living, work, study and even sleep.
