Two BNP men injured in bomb attack
A union parishad chairman, also local BNP leader and a former UP chairman were injured in a bomb attack in front of sub-register office in Moheshpur upazila town on Monday evening.
Witnesses said, a gang of criminals hurled bombs at Abdul Latif, 55, Bashbaria union parishad chairman, also vice president of Moheshpur upazila unit BNP and Nurul Islam, 57, former BNP-backed Azampur union parishad chairman at around 8:30 pm.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Khalilur Rahman of Moheshpur police station said Abdul Latif and Nurul Islam were attacked while coming home by a motor bike.
Three bombs were thrown at them leaving them critically injured, the OC added.
Local BNP leaders and activists brought out a procession in the town yesterday morning demanding punishment to the culprits.
