Man jailed for killing wife
A court here on Sunday convicted a man and his cohort and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for killing his wife.
The court also fined the convicts Monir Hossain and M Monir Tk 10,000, each, in default, to suffer two years more RI.
According to the prosecution, Monir Hossain of Madhya Char Noabad area of the town married Sumi of the same area six years back. Since their marriage Monir used to torture her for dowry.
Following a quarrel over the issue, Monir Hossain with the help of his two cohorts M Monir and Abdul Hye hacked Sumi to death on the night of March, 4, 2007 and dumped the body in a nearby field.
