Top outlaw held in Sirajganj
Police in Tarash arrested a 'regional commander' of outlawed Purba Banglar Sarbahara Party yesterday.
Police arrested Rezaul Islam, 40, from his residence at Paril Boroichora village under Talom union of the upazila early in the morning.
Later they produced Rezaul Islam before a court which sent him to jail.
Rezaul is son of late Azizur Rahman alias Saheb Ali of the village.
Tarash police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Ataur Rahman confirmed the arrest. He said Rezaul is accused in at least one dozen cases including two for murder.
Rezaul led the killing of Abul Kalam Azad at Katagari Bazar under Deshigram union of Tarash upazila infested by Sarbahara on October 26, 2008, the OC said.
