Woman killed by her sons
A middle-aged woman was brutally murdered allegedly by her two sons at Dhaldope village in Sadar upazila on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Kohinur Begum, 41, ex-wife of Juran Ali Bhuiyan of Mirpur dyke area and daughter of late Noor Mohammad of Dhaldope.
Police said Kohinur was married off with Juran Ali of Mirpur-Wapda dyke area of Sirajganj municipality 24 years ago and the couple had five children.
Juran divorced Kohinur on flimsy ground prompting her to take legal action against the husband.
Kohinur later married Rahmat Ali Mondol of Ghorachara village which angered her two sons--Karim,20, and Salam,18.
On the fateful day, they went to Dhaldope, took Kohinur to a lonely place and slit her throat with sharp weapons.
Hearing screams, people rushed to the place and caught Karim and Salam.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue in the morning.
