Three youths jailed for stalking

Mobile courts in Dinajpur and Patuakhali on Saturday sentenced three youths to jail for stalking school and madrasa students. A mobile court in Dinajpur sentenced a truck driver to one-month jail for stalking a schoolgirl in Birampur upazila on Saturday morning. Convict Azim Babu, 20, is son of Motiar Rahman of Collegepara area under Birampur town, reports our correspondent. Police said, a mobile court led by Md Shawkat Osman, assistant commissioner of land of Birampur upazila caught Babu on Saturday morning following a complaint from the parents of the schoolgirl and sentenced him to jail for one month. In Patuakhali, two stalkers were jailed by a mobile court on Saturday night, reports our correspondent. Md Zakir Hossain, UNO of Patuakhali Sadar upazila, also executive magistrate delivered the judgment on the spot. The convicts are Al Amin alias Rasel, 18, of Sabujbagh area and Rafiqul Islam Murad, 19, of Jainkathi area in the town. Police said, both the boys used to sexually harass a female student of class eight at Kourakhali Dakhil Madrasa under Jainkathi union in Sadar upazila. Recently, Rasel made a proposal which was turned down by the girl. On Saturday evening, they went to the house of the girl and tried to call her out. The villagers besieged them and caught them with sharp weapon. Later, they informed police at Patuakhali police station and the mobile court handed down the punishment.
