Two schoolgirls raped, culprits on the run
Two school kids were raped in Lalmonirhat and Bogra districts on Friday.
A 7-year-old girl was violated at Karnopur Mandoltari village of Mogolhat union under Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila on Friday night, reports our correspondent.
Accused Majibar Rahman,35, is son of late Mansur Mollah of Baparitari village under the same union.
Daughter of rickshaw-van puller Rafiqul Islam of Karnopur Mandoltari village, the victim is a student of class-I at Mogolhat Government Primary School.
Police said, Majibar gagged the schoolgirl with a piece of cloth and forcibly took her to a bamboo cluster around 8:00 pm and raped her.
Hearing screams, locals rescued the schoolgirl but the rapist fled the scene immediately.
Critically injured, the girl is now being treated at Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital.
A rape case was lodged accusing Majibar Rahman with Lalmonirhat Sadar PS on Friday night.
In Bogra, a 12-year-old girl was violated by a vendor in Sultanganjpara area of the district town on Friday, reports UNB.
Police quoting locals said, the girl came to visit the house of her neighbour Gafur at about 12:00 noon. Gafur, in absence of his family members, violated the girl.
Hearing the shrill cry of the victim, local people rescued her in profusely bleeding condition and rushed her to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital where her condition was stated to be critical.
After the incident, the culprit went into hiding. Angered by the rape incident, local people later set afire the house of Gafur.
