Client beats up bank manager
Assault on a bank manager by an unruly client on Tuesday triggered protest in front of the bank yesterday.
The incident took place at Sonali Bank, Dashuria branch in Ishwardi upazila. Agitated bank employees and many clients of the bank joined a protest rally in the morning.
Police and bank sources said Md Alam Malitha, a client of the bank came to the bank on Tuesday night when the bank was already closed and demanded Tk 20 lakh loan 'immediately'.
As bank manager Mohammad Bin Kashem refused to give the loan after banking hour, the client along with his associates beat up the bank manager.
Officer-in-charge of Ishwardi police station Kazi Haniful Islam said the bank authorities have filed only a GD.
“They have filed a GD with the police station although we advised them to file a case,” the OC said, adding that the police are trying to nab the attackers.
