Ulfa men placed in court

Indian Ulfa leader 'Major' Ranjan Chowdhury, 48, and his alleged Bangladeshi accomplice Pradip Marak, 58, were produced in a court here yesterday in connection with three cases. Their lawyer Mizanur Rahman sought bail for them but the court rejected the plea. On July 17, 2010, acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-9 arrested both of them with two pistols, 4 bullets, bomb making materials and 4 fresh bombs from in front of Abedin Hospital at Lakkipur area of Bhairab.
