Abducted girl rescued
An abducted college student was rescued by police from a house at Laxmanpur village in Sharsha upazila of Jessore early yesterday.
The victim is daughter of Md Moslem Ali Sardar of Kushodanga village in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira district.
Police said, acting on a tip-off, they raided the house at Laxmanpur and rescued the girl at about 4:00 am yesterday.
During the raid, the abductors managed to flee sensing presence of police, police said.
The girl, a second year HSC student at Kazirhat College said one Abul Kalam and others used to stalk her on her way to college off and on for the last three months.
On June 27, while she was going to college to attend coaching classes, the accused along with his accomplices abducted her from near the college.
They took her to Laxmanpur village and confined her in a room, she said .
