3 housewives murdered allegedly by husbands
Three housewives were murdered allegedly by their husbands in Gaibandha, Pabna and Sirajganj districts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A housewife was tortured to death allegedly by her husband at Bhangamore village in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha on Tuesday night, reports our correspondent.
Police said Ziaur Rahman, 32, used to beat his wife Golenur Begum, 27, when he returned home deep at night after losing money in gambling.
On Tuesday, the accused came home at night and started beating Golenur mercilessly.
At a stage, the woman succumbed to injuries.
Police said there were several injury marks in the body of the victim.
In Pabna, a pregnant housewife was beaten and strangled allegedly by her husband and his friend at Bhato-Miapur village in Santhia upazila on Tuesday, reports our correspondent.
Victim Kuti Buri,22, was wife of Al Amin of the village.
Police quoting the family members said, Kuti Buri was murdered by Al-Amin and his friend following an altercation over payment of Tk 50 thousand dowry.
Later, the two culprits dumped the body under water-hyacinth of a pond beside their residence.
The victim's family suspects that Al-Amin and his friend Mukul killed Kuti Buri along with other family members of Al Amin.
Police arrested Mukul and the mother of Al Amin but main accused Al-Amin went into hiding.
In Sirajganj, a housewife was killed allegedly by her husband over family dispute in Chhayadhan Para area in the municipality Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Subarna Begum, 25, wife of Faruk Hossain, a resident of the area, reports UNB.
Locals said, Faruk engaged in an altercation with Subarna over a family matter and at one stage hit her with a wooden stick in the head, leaving her dead on the spot.
Subarna`s family members alleged that Faruk killed her for dowry. A case was filed with Sirajganj Sadar police station.
