6 'robbers' arrested
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-11) in a drive arrested six alleged robbers with firearms and bullets from Toll Plaza in Daudkandi upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway early yesterday.
Police while searching a microbus arrested the six and seized two pistols, eight bullets, two magazines, two torch lights, 10 mobile sets and cash Tk 18,070 from them. The microbus was also seized.
The arrestees are Alam Mia, 33, of Rajpara area of Kalapara upazila in Patuakhali, Zakir Hossain, 28, of Panchakuralia under Taltala of the same district, Osman Goni alias Ibrahim, 30, of Shympur area in Dhaka, Dulal Mridha, 34, of Bhabhanipur under Bakerganj upazila in Barisal, Montu Mia, 30, of Betagi area in Barguna and Swapan Mia, 25, of Aamtali area of the same district.
