RU journo stabbed
Muggers stabbed Rajshahi University (RU) correspondent of The Daily Sun on Sunday night at Talaimari near the university.
Seriously injured Sohel Rana is a fourth year student of Mass Communication and Journalism department and also the general secretary of Rajshahi University Sangbadik Samity.
He was admitted to the university medical centre with stab injury in his neck.
Sohel alleged that a gang waylaid him near the Shaheed Minar at Talaimari at around 7:00pm.
“One of the muggers asked me to give two hundred taka. When I opened my wallet, he tried to take away the money bag though I was giving him the amount. As I refused to give the wallet, he stabbed in my neck and ran away with the money bag", he alleged.
Hearing the screams, pedestrians rushed to the spot and took Sohel to a nearby dispensary for primary aid. Later, some friends of Sohel came to the area and took him to the university medical centre at around 8:30pm.
