Two jailed for stalking
A former BDR man and a teenage boy were sentenced to jail for one year each in separate incidents of stalking on Monday.
A mobile court in Shailakupa upazila of Jhenidah on Monday convicted a former BDR jawan and sentenced him to one year imprisonment for sexually harassing a schoolgirl.
Officer- in-charge of Shailakupa police station Sagir Miah said, police arrested Abdur Razzak following a complaint of her father, reports UNB.
Razzak was punished as he forcibly hugged daughter of Tobarok Mollah of Damukdia village on her way to Monoharpur Kabi Golam Mostafa Secondary School.
In Lalmonirhat, a teenage boy was sentenced to jail for one year on Monday for sexually harassing a schoolgirl in West Bejgram village of Hatibandha upazila, reports our correspondent.
Convict Sazedul Islam, 16, son of Afzal Hossain, is a student of Class-X in Hatibandha SS High School.
According to police, Sazedul Islam had been stalking a student of class eight in Hatibandha Shah Goribullah Girls High School for the last three months.
Victims father Ali Akhter Kibriya told the matter to Sazedul's father several times but Afzal Hossain took no action.
Kibriya called the police when Sazedul was teasing the girl at her home at noon. Police rushed in and arrested him from the spot.
