Fake fertiliser making factory unearthed
Police unearthed a fake factory with fertiliser making machine and other accessories at Dhalbaria in Sadar upazila yesterday.
Police also arrested two people and a truck laden with adulterated fertiliser from Jhhowdanga bazaar in Sadar upazila.
The arrestees are Rafiqul Islam and truck driver Tariqul Islam of Khajura area in Jessore district.
But the main accused Golam Azam, the owner of the factory, managed to flee the scene, police said.
Quoting local people police said, the night guards of Jhhowdanga bazaar seized the truck loaded with adulterated phosphate fertiliser and caught Rafiqul Islam Wednesday night. Later they handed him over to police.
Upon the confession of Rafiqul Islam, police arrested truck driver Tariqul.
During interrogation, they told police that they bought and loaded the fertiliser from a fertiliser producing factory at Dhalbaria on June 1.
Police raided the adulterated fertiliser making factory yesterday and seized fertiliser making machine with other accessories.
