Two more infected with anthrax in Pabna
Two more people have been infected with anthrax at Raut Nagdapra village in Faridpur upazila of the district.
The doctors confirmed it yesterday raising the number of infected people to 12 in the last four days.
Faridpur upazila health and family planning officer Dr Md Khalilur Rahman said that the two new patients were found at Raut Nagdapara village. They are Shathi, 14, daughter of Hafizur Rahman and Mahamuda, 25, wife of Masud Rana.
“They came to Faridpur upazila health complex yesterday noon with symptoms of infection. Both of them are being treated,” Dr Khalilur Rahman said.
Meanwhile, an expert team of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease, Control, Research (IEDCR) led by Dr Apurba Chakrabarty visited the affected area on Wednesday afternoon. During the visit, the team collected samples from the area.
