Power plant plan
The government has decided to set up a 15 megawatt capacity power plant at a cost of Tk 120 crore in Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur district during the 2011-12 financial year.
Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam MP told BSS that the scheme was approved by the Cabinet at a meeting recently.
He said the work of the power plant project would start next month and it is expected to be completed within a year.
After implementation of the project entire Hajiganj and Shahrasti upazilas will be covered by electricity.
