2 fishermen drown
Two fishermen drowned after their fishing boat was hit by a fuel tanker in Meghna river in Matlab north upazila Monday night.
Two fishermen, still missing, were identified as Habibullah, 35, and Ali Ahammad, 36, who hailed from Shatnol in same upazila.
Police said three fishermen -- Habib, Ali and Abu Mia,33 -- were catching fish when a fuel carrier ship hit their boat at Shatnol, leaving the boat into pieces at 11pm.
Abu Mia managed to swim ashore with the help of a nearby boat while two others went missing.
