Outlaw hacked to death in Pabna
An activist of an outlawed party was hacked to death at Alokdiar, a remote village of Santhia upazila under the district yesterday.
Police recovered the body from a water body in the afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Md. Ziarul Islam, 30, of the village. He was a hardened operative of outlawed PBCP Lal Pataka faction, police said.
Officer-in-charge (OC) at Santhia police station Md. Rezaul Islam said criminals hacked Ziarul at Alokdiar water body of the upazila anytime yesterday. The incident took place at the middle of the water body, the loneliest spot in the area.
On information, police went to the spot at about 3pm, recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue.
Internal feud of the outlawed operatives might be the reason behind the murder, the OC said.
