Kalaroa Jubo Dal leader held
Police arrested Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal Kalaroa upazila president Ashraf Hossain, from his residence at Kalaroa upazila town early Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided his house and arrested him.
The arrestee is Ashraf Hossain, 46, son of Shahadat Hossain of village Panchpota also Keragachhi union parishad (UP) chairman.
Contacted, Inspector SM Obaidullah of Kalaroa PS said Ashraf is accused in several cases including for extortion and cheating.
There are two arrest warrants issued against him and he is absconding for long, he said. He is also a listed criminal as per the home ministry, he added.
Ashraf was arrested by the joint forces during the immediate past caretaker government.
