Train service disrupted
Train service on Chandpur-Laksham route remained suspended for nearly three hours due to damage of railway sleepers at Balakhal railway station yesterday morning. The accident occurred as necessary repair work was not done for a long time, railway officials said. Chandpur assistant stationmaster Md Golam Mostafa said at around 5:45am, the train line was damaged at two spots after Chittagong-bound train "Meghna Express" passed through Balakhal station. Tain service on the route resumed at around 9:00am.
