7 robbers held with arms
Police arrested seven robbers with firearms in Maria area under Kishoreganj Sadar upazila early yesterday.
The arrestees are Russel Mia, 32, son of Abdul Matin, Abdus Salam, 38, son of late Abdul Malek, Dulal Hossain, 38, son of Shmser Ali, and Alam Mia, 27, son of late Abu Bakkar of Maria village, Hatem Ali, 30, son of Abdus Subhan of Purba Tarapasha village and Selim Mia, 35, son of late Abdus Sattar and Azizul Huq, 30, son of Abdul Mannan of Duliarchar village in the upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, law enforcers from Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station raided the house of robber Salam Mia in Maria area at around 2:00 am and arrested the robbers. Police also recovered some firearms from their possession.

Police Station said the gang gathered at the house of Salam and was taking preparation for committing a robbery at a market in Murag Mahal area of the town.
They were wanted in several robbery cases filed with the police station, he added.
