3 arrested for killing Bagerhat JCD leader
Police arrested three people including a listed criminal from a place near Monihar Cinema Hall in Jessore early yesterday on charge of killing Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader Emadul Kabir.
The arrestees were identified as Chan Mia Malik, 50, son of Insan Uddin Malik of Badekarapara village, his son Altaf Masud, 20, and his son-in-law Sachchu, 28.
Earlier, police picked up Jahanara Begum, 45, in connection with the murder. They are now being interrogated by police.
Officer-in-charge Shahidul Islam of Sadar model police station said during primary investigation the names of the arrestees were collected from family members of the deceased and local people.
After that a team conducted a drive with the help of Jessore police at around 1:45am yesterday and arrested the three suspects.
On Tuesday, Emadul's body was recovered from a paddy field near the house of Daud, a business partner of the deceased.
