Power generation resumes
Two units of Ashuganj Power Station resumed power generation on test basis early yesterday after repair.
The 56-megawatt T-2 Unit and 34 megawatt ST Unit, with total 90mw power generating capacity, re-started at dead of night after about 12 hours of hectic repairing.
Both units were shut down due to technical problem at 5pm on Tuesday.
Three more units of the 724mw power station were shut down following mechanical glitches in September and earlier this month. The units have a total 265mw power generating capacity. Those remained idle since then.
