The arrestee is Jamirul Islam Moru, 30, of Chamnai village in the upazila. Police arrested Moru from Walia village under Lalpur upazila of Natore district. Moru, locally known as 'Boma Moru', was arrested in 2007 in an explosive case that is still pending with Kushtia district judge's court. During preliminary interrogation, Moru admitted to his involvement in the bomb attack, police said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station Hasan Hafizur Rahman quoted Moru as saying that he supplied two bombs to Zahidul Islam Zahid. "Moru was also present outside of the lawmaker's house during the incident. Bombs were brought to Afaz Uddin's house to kill him and his son Arif Ahmed,” the OC said. Two cases were filed with Daulatpur Police Station accusing Zahidul Islam Zahid, Jamirul Islam Moru, Siddik and Ahadul. Of them, Siddik and Ahadul carried the bombs to the lawmaker's house and were killed in explosions. Three people were killed and two others, including Awami League lawmaker from Kushtia-1 constituency Afaz Uddin Ahmed, were injured in the attack. Meanwhile, Kushtia district Awami League yesterday alleged that BNP and Jamaat were involved in the bomb attack inside the lawmaker's house. District AL General Secretary Asgor Ali made the allegation at a press conference at the local press club in the afternoon. He also demanded proper investigation into the incident.
