1 dies, 8 fall sick in Ctg

One person died and eight others fell sick after taking food at a temple in the port city on Monday. The deceased was identified as Pulin Saha,55. Those who fell sick due to food poisoning are Nirmol Majumder, 70, Monindra Das,75, Madhuri Das,70, Krishna Das,40, Khokon Roy,50, Dhirendra Das,60, Dulal Shamonta,60, and Rupom Roy, 50. Temple sources said the devotees fell unconscious after taking lunch at Krishno temple at Chatteshwary Road under Kotwali police station on Monday afternoon. Other devotees of the temple rushed the victims to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where Pulin died at around 11:00am yesterday. The rest were undergoing treatment till filing of this report yesterday afternoon. Dr Ashok Kumar Dutta, associate professor of CMCH said condition of the affected devotees was improving.
