Former BCL leader killed in Narsingdi
Rivals murdered a former leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at West Dattapara of the town on Sunday.
Victim Kamruzzaman alias Zaman, 35, son of Hossain Ali, was former vice president of BCL district unit.
Family sources said a gang picked up Zaman from his house at about 10.00pm. They severed his hands and than slit his throat at a place near his house.
The gang fled the scene firing bullets when locals came to the rescue of Kamruzzaman.
Relatives took Zaman to Narsingdi Sadar General Hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead.
Victim's sister Shahinur Begum later filed a case with Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station accusing eight people of the murder.
Police arrested Angur Buiyan and Babu Buiyan hours after the incident, said Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station.
