Section 144 at Koira
Section 144 was imposed in Koira upazila Sadar from 8:00am to 8:00pm yesterday as opposition BNP and ruling Awami League (AL) called separate meetings at the same time and same venue. Upazila unit BNP called a meeting at 3:00pm in front of Palli Unnayan Samity premises as part of its central programme. Meanwhile, upazila unit AL and Muktijoddha Sangsad jointly called a meeting at the same place and same time to press home their various demands. Apprehending possible clash between the two rival parties, local administration imposed Section 144 in the area.
