350 chocolate bombs found in passenger bus in Moulvibazar
Two pipe guns seized from Meherpur
Police recovered 350 chocolate bombs and explosives from a passenger bus in Juri upazila of Moulvibazar district yesterday while Rab seized two firearms from a bus counter on Wednesday night in Kushtia.
In Moulvibazar, police recovered the bombs from a bus on Juri-Fultola road in the morning and arrested two passengers named Uster Ali, 58, and Younus Ali, 45, on charge of carrying the bombs and explosives, reports our correspondent.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Juri Police Station conducted a search on the bus at around 8:00am in South Sagornal area and found the bombs and explosives kept in 13 packets. A case has been filed with Juri Police Station.
Our Kushtia correspondent reported that Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) recovered two firearms from a bus counter in Meherpur on Wednesday night.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-6, led by Assistant Police Superintendent (ASP) Sheikh Jahidul Islam raided the counter of GR Paribahan in Meherpur town at around 9:00 pm and found a box there.
After opening the box, they found two Indian made pipe guns in it.
Rab picked up the staff of the bus counter for interrogation.
