Villagers rescued from traffickers two women and two children on Baghadanga border in Moheshpur upazila of Jhenidah district while BDR detained six people when they were going to India with forged travel documents through Benapole check post yesterday. Uzila Khatun, wife of Shaker Ali of Farmpara area in Chuadanga district, her son Swadhin, 4, Nazma Khatun and her son Monir, 4, were being trafficked to India through Baghadanga frontier in Moheshpur upazila when locals rescued them, reports our Jhenidah correspondent. The villagers also caught two traffickers -- Anwar Hossain of Farmpara area under Chuadanga district and Takim Roy of Baluhor Ramchandrapur village under Kotchandpur upazila handed them over to BDR. On October 19, neighbour Anwar Hossain coaxed Nazma and Uzila into having a trip to frontier areas and confined them at Kutubpur village in Moheshpur upazila, said Nayek Mozibur Rahman of Baghadanga BDR camp in the upazila. On October 21, Anwar pushed them to Indian territory through Moheshpur Baghadanga frontier. They were sold for Tk 20,000 to a group of brokers. The Indian broker confined them at Chandpur village closing Silbaria frontier in India. With the help of an Indian woman, Nazma, Uzila and their children crossed the Ichhamati River and took shelter at Khoshalpur village near Baghadanga frontier in Bangladesh early Tuesday. Getting the information, Anwar and Takim Roy reached Khosahlpur village and tried to take them again to India. Hearing screams of the women and children, villagers rushed to the spot, caught the two traffickers and handed them over to BDR.
