Outlaw, pirate arrested
Police arrested an underground operative at Chararboti village under Dakope upazila of Khulna district on Sunday night.
He was identified as Anup Roy, 35, son of Amulya Roy of the same village.
Being tipped-off, police arrested the extremist who had surrendered to police laying down his arms in 1999 in response to a call by the government to take advantage of general amnesty.
The arrested outlaw belongs to Janajuddho faction of Prubo Banglar Communist Party, police said.
In another incident, police arrested a notorious pirate of the Sundarbans on Sunday morning from Thirol village under Koira upazila of Khulna district. He was identified as Golam Mowla Sana, 45, son of Erfan Ali Sana of Koira village under the same upazila.
