11 shops gutted in Tangail
At least 11 shops were gutted in a fire at Baro Chaona Bazar in Sakhipur upazila of Tangail district on Saturday night.
Locals said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a tea stall at the bazar at around 11:00pm and soon engulfed 10 adjacent shops.
Being informed, fire fighters from Sakhipur and Pahar Kanchanpur Air Force Base rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze at around 1:00am.
Mozammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Sakhipur Police Station, said the fire fighters with the help of locals extinguished the fire.
