4 stalkers arrested in two districts
Police arrested four stalkers in Khulna and Jhenidah districts yesterday and the day before.
Of them, three were arrested in Khulna Sadar upazila while another was arrested in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenidah district.
Our staff correspondent from Khulna reported that a patrol police team arrested three youths on charge of teasing girl in Nirala Residential Area. The arrestees are Jashim Khan, 18, Shagor Sheikh, 17, and Manik Sheikh, 19.
According to the officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station, the youths were teasing a 12-year-old girl, also student of Nirala Adarsha Primary School, in the residential area. As she cried for help, police rushed to the spot and picked up the three from the spot, the OC said.
The stalkers were shown arrested under Section 79 of KMP ordinance and produce in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court that sent them to jail.
In jhenidah, police arrested a young man for teasing a student of Shamsher Nagar Girls' High School in Kaliganj upazila on Tuesday.
Police said Asgar, 25, son of Ramzan Ali of Satgachia village in the upazila intercepted the girl, a student of class ten, on way to school in the morning and gave her an indecent proposal.
The girl then brought the matter to the notice of the school managing committee's chairman Rashed Shamsher. Following a case filed against the stalker, police arrested him.
