Honours Admission Test
51 students to vie for each seat at RU
About 51 students will vie for a seat in the upcoming admission test into first year honours course of Rajshahi University (RU) under 2010-11 session.
A total of 1, 73,316 students across the country have registered their names for admission test against 3,370 seats under 17 units, administration sources said.
Earlier, the university authorities announced the date for test on October 30 and it will continue till November 2 this year.
Scrutiny of applications started from September 27 and it will continue till October 11 where admission seekers had to register their names with Short Message Service (SMS) of Teletalk mobile phone.
Administration sources said 19,127 admission seeker have registered names for Arts faculty under six units while 19,127 students for Law Faculty under one unit, 21,958 for Science Faculty under two units, 20,318 students for Business Studies faculty under one unit, 39,935 for Social Science Faculty under two units, 17,230 for Biological Science Faculty under three units, 7,717 for Agricultural Faculty under one unit and 10,657 students registered names for Engineering Faculty under one unit.
The highest number of students have been registered in Social Science faculty under two units.
Administration sources said seat arrangement of the test will be published in due time on RU website www.ru.ac.bd.
The authorities also informed about seat arrangement through SMS to the respective students who registered names for admission test, sources said.
Meanwhile, physically challenged students of the university yesterday called upon the university authorities to consider specially for physically challenged admission seekers during test.
Students, under the banner of Rajshahi University Differently Able Students Organisation (RUDASO), also called upon the university teachers, students and employees to extend their helping hands to disable admission seekers so that they do not face problem during test.
At a rally on the campus, the students said most of the time physically challenged admission seekers face problems during test.
