A group of students of Kurigram Government College yesterday damaged several doors, windows and flower tubs of the college alleging that there was not 'adequate facility' during English examination of degree second year on Sunday. About 100 students brought out a procession on the college campus at about 12:30pm yesterday when a tutorial class was going on in the south building of the college, said college teachers, officials and students. Some agitated students damaged several doors, windows and flower tubs at the administration building and the departments of geology, political science, history and management. A fourth year student of botany department of the college, Rabiul Islam said entrance and exit were kept fully stopped for students including examinees during the English examination of degree second year that was held in four rooms of the first floor of the college on Sunday. A girl examinee wanted to go out from the examination hall after two hours of starting the examination. But the college vice principal did not let her go out until one more hour passed. After coming out from the room, she informed the students of the matter. 'Protesting' the act of the vice principal, some agitated students brought out a procession on the campus on Monday and ransacked some doors and windows. Terming the students' allegation as untrue, college Vice Principal Tofayel Hossen said, "Some students held a rally and ransacked doors and windows because they became aggrieved due to not having any illegal facility during the English examination on Sunday. A collapsible gate was used for entrance and exit of the examinees for fairness of the examination." Principal of the college Prof Sabiha Khatun said, "After some agitated students ransacked several doors and windows of the college, we held a meeting and formed a three-member investigation committee."
