Bodies of youths found in train, sugarcane field
Bodies of two young men were recovered from train and sugarcane field yesterday and the day before.
Railway police recovered an unidentified body of young man from a compartment of intercity train Lalmoni Express at Lalmonirhat railway station yesterday morning.
The train came to the platform from the capital city at around 10:30 in the morning, reports a correspondent.
Police suspect that the young man was tortured and then strangled to death. The recovered body was sent to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, they said.
OC of Lalmonirhat railway police Zahir Raiyhan said, the youth might be coming home from his workplace in the capital on Eid vacations.
On the way, a gang might have looted his money and later killed him, he said.
An unnatural death (DU) case was lodged with GRP station.
In Chapainawabganj, police recovered the body of a young man from a sugarcane field at Boiddyonathpur village under Shibganj upazila on Wednesday night, reports our correspondently.
Victim Sohobur Rahman, 25, son of Monsur Ali of Tarapur village under Monakasha union in Shibganj went missing on August 22.
Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibganj police station said, one Bulbul of Boiddyonathpur village entered a sugarcane field for collecting grass at around 6:00pm. He found the body there and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body at around 8:30pm from the sugarcane field and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
According to the OC, Sohobur came out of his in-laws house on August 22 following a feud with his wife and since then he remained missing.
Victim's father Monsur Ali filed a case with Shibganj police station.
In Sirajganj, a 7-year-old boy was killed by unidentified assailants at Chardogasi village in Kamarkhand upazila on Saturday night.
The victim was identified as Asif, son of Abdur Razzaq of the same village.
Police quoting family sources said, Asif was playing near his house in the evening but he did not return home at night.
After a hectic search, local people found the body with torture marks near his house at about 9pm and informed the police.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy. The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
