Extortionists throw bomb at house of businessman
Extortionists on Sunday night threw bombs at the house of a businessman at Kuatala in Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga allegedly as he refused to pay the illegal toll demanded by them.
According to police, a gang demanded Tk 2 lakh from local businessman Sabdal Haq a few days ago.
The gang threatened Sabdal with dire consequences in case of failure to pay the amount.
They also told him not to inform it to police.
On Sunday night, the gang threw a bomb on Sabdal's house at about 12:00pm which blasted with a big bang.
The bombs damaged a portion of the yard of Sabdal.
Police from nearby Osmanpur camp rushed to the spot and recovered splinters.
