<i>Man kills daughter, youth hacks father to death</i>
A man killed his eight-month-old daughter in Nachole upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Friday night while a youth hacked his father to death in Saturia upazila of Manikganj district the same night.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent quoted the officer-in-charge of Nachole Police Station as saying that Mohammad Kalam, 25, of Charudoynagar village threw his daughter Karima into a pond following a quarrel with his wife.
Police said Kalam along with his wife Salma and daughter Karima came to his father-in-law's house at Alampur from Charudoynagar village on Friday morning. He had an altercation with his wife in the evening.
When Salma and her daughter were asleep in a room at around 10:30pm, Kalam picked up her daughter from bed, threw her into a nearby pond and fled the scene.
As locals found Karima's body floating in the pond on Saturday morning, the informed police. Police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Locals caught Kalam at Knasta Bazar in Shibgonj upazila and handed him over to the police. A case was filed against Kalam with Nachole Police Station.
In Manikganj, a youth hacked his father to death at Saizal Barundi village in Saturia upazila on Friday night, reports UNB.
Police quoted local people as saying that Ibrahim, 28, hacked his father Abdul Jalil, 52, with a sharp weapon following a quarrel over sharing of property at around 11:00pm.
Hearing scream, neighbors rushed to the spot, rescued Jalil in a critical condition and took him to local hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Police later recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Ibrahim had gone into hiding soon after the incident.
Misron Begum, wife of the deceased, filed a murder case against their killer son with the police.
