Councils of sylhet JCD units today
The councils of JCD Sylhet district and city units will be held at BNP central office in the capital today.
JCD sources said the decision to hold the councils of the two units in the capital was taken apprehending factional clashes.
As many as 366 delegates from Sylhet district and city units are participating in today's councils, sources added.
The council of Habiganj district unit on July 22 was marked by clashes and vandalism. JCD central committee president and general secretary were present at the council.
On July 24, the JCD central body postponed the conference of its Moulvibazar unit, fearing clashes between the rival groups. The conference of Sunamgnaj district unit could not be held on August 10 as rival JCD men clashed each other and ransacked the venue.
