Sajeda stops going college as stalkers give death threat
A female student of Chandiapur village in Sadullapur upazila under Gaibandha district has stopped attending classes as local stalkers gave death threat following their failed attempt to kidnap her.
Alamgir Hossain and Shahidul Islam of Chandiapur village waylaid Sajeda Khatun, a student of Maderganj College in Sadullapur upazila, near Junidaha bridge when she was returning home from her coaching teacher's house before iftar on Wednesday, said police and family sources.
The criminals took her snaps with mobile camera and tried to kidnap her. Hearing her scream, locals rushed to the spot and rescued her.
Hearing the matter, the victim's elder brother Ashraf Ali and his friend Anwar Hossain rushed to the spot. But Alamgir and Shahidul beat them up and threatened to kill the girl if there was any further 'protest'.
Facing insecurity of Sajeda's life and honour, parents stopped sending her to college and teacher's house, family sources said, adding that earlier on several occasions, the stalkers teased the girl on her way to college and home and gave 'proposal' for marriage.
"I don't want to see end my daughter's life for her education. So I have decided not to send her to college any more," said Sajeda's father Motiur Rahman.
A case was filed in this regard and the culprits will be nabbed by any means, said Hasan Inam, officer in charge of Sadullapur police station.
